You add social media links to your Web site using the Drupal Service links module.
If you are not using Drupal for your content management system, convert now. Download Service links from drupal.org/project/service_links.
The download contains several modules. You activate the Service links module then you activate some of the other modules from the following list.
General Services provides: Blinklist, Box, del.icio.us, Digg, Facebook, Furl, Google Bookmark, Google Buzz, Icerocket, Identi.ca, Linkedin, Magnolia, Mister Wong, Mixx, MySpace, Newsvine, Phing this, Propeller, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Technorati, Twitter, Yahoo Bookmark, Yahoo Buzz.
Basque Services provide the Basque Services: Zabaldu, Bildu, Aupatu.
Dutch Services provide: eKudos, Hyves, Nujij.
Favorite Services lets you add the page to the favorite list of Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera.
Forward Services adds support for the Forward module which sends the link through email.
German Services provides: Alltagz, Colivia, Icio, InfoPirat, Linkarena, MeinVZ, Mister Wong, Netselektor, Oneview, Readster, seekXL, SeoIGG, Weblinkr, Webnews, Yigg.
Hungarian Services provides: iWiW
Italian Services provides: Diggita, Meemi, OkNotizie, Segnalo.com, TechNotizie, Wikio, ZicZac.

You set a permission to let people see the links and another to let people edit the links. Usually you let every user see the links and restrict editing to an administration role.
Full node and teaser
You can attach the links to a display of a full node, the display of the teaser (summary), or both.
Select individual links
When you switch on one of the optional modules, you can switch the individual service links on and off.
Image or text
There is an option to display an image or a text link or both.

The module is almost compulsory for spreading the word about some types of content.
