Google chooses Drupal

Update: Did anyone notice the date? April 1st.

One thing about setting up April Fools day Web sites is all the modern software to make everything easy and all the software is free. For $10 per month you can have a nice share of a Webserver where you can place many small Web sites including all your development Web sites, demonstrations for customers, birthday announcements, April Fools sites, and experiments. The only additional costs are $10 for each domain name, a small amount of your time, and Internet access.

Some domain names are only $4 and are perfect for test sites.

Your time might be effectively free because, with the right software, the bulk of the time is spent composing content and that is exactly the same if you chose to write letters or use some other form of communication. Think of a birthday invitation to a hundred of your friends. You spend 10 in a shop choosing an invitation then two hours writing out the initations then 10 minutes sticking on stamps etc. Compare that to 10 minutes creating a Web site, 10 minutes composing an email, then you send the email to your friends using the mailing list you alreaqdy maintain for all the other mail to your friends. The longest part of setting up the site will be sorting through your photographs for the right image.
